Newport House, one of Herefordshire’s most significant Grade II listed properties, sits in a tranquil location surrounded by 427 acres of stunning countryside. The current owners, who purchased the property in 2004, have dedicated years to meticulously restoring both the house and estate to their former glory. Their efforts have focused on the principal rooms and reassembling the estate, making the house once again the heart of the grounds.
Dating back to 1254, Newport House has a rich history, including links to Sir John Oldcastle, a proto-Protestant hero and inspiration for Shakespeare’s Falstaff. In the early 1700s, the Foley family rebuilt the house, creating the grand structure seen today.
We recently conducted a heat loss and radiator assessment of the 1,700 sqm property, recording a 150kW heat loss. The owners are considering insulation upgrades and selecting the best heating system to preserve this historic home’s comfort and efficiency.
